Guinea Worm is a parasitic infection spread through unclean drinking water. It causes intense debilitating pain (so much that it was nicknamed "the fiery serpent"), and was once extremely prevalent across Asia and Africa. The Carter Center has worked hard to fight against Guinea Worm, and now, it's on track to be the second disease to be eradicated after smallpox.

What does it take to eradicate a widespread disease? And why did former president Carter choose to focus on this one? Is there anything else he wishes he could have used his powers as the president on?

Cenk Uygur speaks to former President Jimmy Carter to find out in the first part of this special interview.

Bryan Burghart is a notable journalist and creator of Fatal Encounters (FatalEncounters.org), a searchable national database about people killed during interactions with law enforcement. He started curating the site after discovering that someone had been killed in a police altercation, but not being able to find any information on it later. Why wasn't there transparency? Why are there not any records being kept on these fatalities on an official level? And what has Brian learned during his fact-finding venture? And what hurdles did he face in the fight for information? Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show) discusses it all with journalist Brian Burghart.

Brian Burghart has been editor of the Reno News & Review since 2002 and teaches Beginning Reporting at the Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is also a dual-master’s student and journalism instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Max Blumenthal is the author of Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel; he speaks to Cenk Uygur about the situation in Gaza straight from Ramallah on the West Bank. He has been a vocal opponent of Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing militaristic leadership of Israel, the U.S. government's support of violent acts in the name of the state, as well as the treatment of people living on the Gaza Strip.

Max argues that the status of people living on the Gaza Strip is worse than what black South Africans suffered during Apartheid, asks why the U.S. continues to push for assault on the Gaza Strip, and explains how he, as a Jewish man, mitigates his criticism of the state of Israel. Can Americans protest the violence and death through boycott?

Russell Brand (now on The Trews) is well known for his comedy and acting, but also his commentary and analysis of main stream media and the faults therein. Today, he talks to Cenk Uygur about the the unbelievable corporate bias in news, our modern political landscape, and how we can fix and cope with both cultures. How does Ferguson coverage show us how pundits like Bill O'Reilly and others have failed the American public? When did news conform to the status quo and maintaining the agenda of the powerful, rather than serving the public? How do those of us without billions of dollars at our disposal cope with the world as it is? And how does the role of celebrity ironically play into this?

Russell and Cenk have a frank discussion on these topics and the toxic relationships between politics, mainstream media, and power, and how money is the corrupting link between them all.

Read about Wolf-PAC for yourself HERE: http://www.wolf-pac.com/

Wolf-PAC's goal is singular- get the power and influence of money out of politics. All too often, donors to political campaigns are able to get our representatives to work to accomplish what they want-- but what about what the citizens want? How can everyday people fight corruption in our government? Wolf-PAC volunteers-- normal citizens-- have been able to successfully get resolutions to get conventions which help us push out the power of money out of our political system. Here in California, Wolf-PAC volunteers worked hard, and saw real success with CA AJR1. Now, leaders including California State Leader Alison Hartson, California Organizer Will Yate, and California Regional Coordinator Kathy Orlinsky join founder Cenk Uygur to discuss it all. Do you think we can pass a resolution? These people are working every day to do it!

Anthony Saidy is a chess master who lived in the Soviet Union (the world center for Chess at the time) for several years during the Cold War era. Now, we seem to be in a somewhat similar situation with the U.S.S.R. He's also the author of "1983, The Novel," a fictional take on the Soviet's two vital classes- dissident intellectuals and the lesser-known working class. What if the two groups had worked together to form a new society? Dave Koller discusses 1983, chess, Russia, and even plays a game of chess with Master Anthony Saidy here on TYT Interviews.

In this latest terrific interview, hilarious and incisive political comedian Jimmy Dore (http://twitter.com/jimmy_dore) sits down with The Young Turks' host Cenk Uygur (http://twitter.com/cenkuygur) to discuss politics, the media and how corporations have seized control of them both - all of which Jimmy also covers in his new book, "Your Country Is Just Not That Into You: How the Media, Wall Street, and Both Political Parties Keep on Screwing You - Even After You've Moved on."

Along the way the two also discuss Jimmy's Chicago upbringing and why, as the 12th of 12 kids in an Irish Catholic family, he was eminently disposable, how ABC newscaster Brian Williams can be a terrific guy and still be a huge part of what's destroying the country, and why on earth someone making $50,000 a year would ever care about the estate tax.

Brian Aubert is the lead singer for Silversun Pickups, the huge alternative band that tours the world, but started in the artistic Los Angeles neighborhood of Silverlake. There is startlingly little information about Brian available online, but he speaks to Ana Kasparian about the origins of Silversun Pickups, band members, touching and personal lyrics he's written, his voice, his love of What the Flick, and much more. What was it like when the Mitt Romney 2012 presidential campaign co-opted Silversun Pickups' "Panic Switch" without the band's permission? Have Brian and the band become more political from that point? What went into the new single, "Cannibal?"

Brian Aubert and Ana Kasparian discuss all this and more, here on TYT Interviews!
